At Warwickshire County Council Offices
We are planning to stand and make our presence known before the County Council full meetings to demonstrate our dissatisfaction with the current inadequate response to the climate and ecological emergency.
Due to current Government regulations and the need to limit COVID-19 to protect our NHS this event will not be taking place
At Warwick District Council Meeting: We are planning to stand and make our presence known before the District Council full meetings to demonstrate our dissatisfaction with the current inadequate response to the climate and ecological emergency.
It has become increasingly clear that social distancing measures will continue for a long time, with mass gatherings likely banned for the rest of the year. How can we continue to rebel under these new circumstances? How do we continue play our unique role in raising the alarm about climate and ecological crisis? XR Midlands invites all rebels in our region to come together in this series of People's Assemblies to explore different ways forward. No experience with People's Assemblies is required-- just a willingness to gather online, share your ideas and inspire each other. Please promote widely amongst your local Midlands groups so every rebel has a chance to share their voice in this important process.

At Warwickshire County Council Offices (in Warwick)
Taking every care to ensure we maintain Social Distancing, we are planning to exercise and make our presence known before the County Council full meetings to demonstrate our dissatisfaction with the current inadequate response to the climate and ecological emergency. We would like our local representatives to know that we expect far more from them.
Our Government has been looking to bailout out climate and nature destroyers over people, has put production over care and consumption over freedom.
So it’s time to take creative action and let them know there is NO GOING BACK!!!
This time we will be taking our message directly to the Government - at all levels, across the UK
CHANGE IS NOW. DECIDE TOGETHER
At The Town Hall in Leamington
This action is open to everyone, not only Extinction Rebellion. The more the merrier so bring friends, relatives, strangers ... everyone is welcome so long as they follow Government advice.
We aim to peacefully engage with the public to hear their views about the climate and ecological emergency, local environmental issues (traffic, air quality, cycle lanes, ..) and if they are interested to inform them about XR and XRWD.
On the 25th June the Climate Change Committee will deliver its progress report to the Government. It will say that it is failing in its commitments to reach net zero emissions by 2050, a target already woefully inadequate. It will say they are failing in their responsibilities to keep people safe. Why aren't they listening? Inaction equals death.
