Extinction Rebellion Warwick District

We are facing an unprecedented global climate emergency.

The government has failed to protect us.

To survive, it's going to take everything we've got.

Join the Rebellion

The 2020 Rebellion is happening! From 12 noon on Tuesday 1st September rebels from all over the country will gather in Parliament Square (and also in Cardiff and Manchester) to demand that MPs back the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill

Now is the time to step forward, whether online or in person, to support Extinction Rebellion! History shows that peaceful civil disobedience works and we don’t have much time.

Read on for how you can take part, whether on the streets or from home.

Rebelling from Home?

1. Join the Digital Rebellion

Digital Rebellion is a simple way to direct our voices to the key institutions of power that contribute to climate breakdown. We are also targeting our MPs to tell them about the CEE Bill. This is what we call glorified lobbying. It is a way of being inclusive to rebels that need to stay home and still want to be active. We are all in this together!

It you follow the link without extension: digitalrebellion.uk it will automatically take you to the current campaign running on any given day, but we encourage you to take part every day as the narrative unfolds! Speak and write from your heart, be respectful, but firm.

2. Use your social media presence to share and comment on posts, pictures and footage to get them up the rankings – Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. Make sure all your friends know what is happening and why.

3. Consider making a donation to XR at this critical time.

4. Stay connected and support the London Rebels from XR Warwick District?

Our Whatsapp Anchoring Support Group links up our London Rebels (the 'Sails') with local 'Anchors' who can hold an emotional space back home. It is primarily a listening group for our rebels in London to check in how they are feeling and debrief, knowing they will be 'heard'. This is a regenerative culture initiative to bring together those who are taking part in the London Action with those who are not taking part and so maintain a sense of our cohesion as an XR local group. There is no expectation/obligation on Anchors to respond to check ins (although that may happen of course), simply to be listeners. Join the group  to offer this support.

Rebel Locally

We are in the process of organising a daily vigil from Tuesday 1st outside the offices of our local MPs in Leamington and Kenilworth along the lines of the Stratford vigil below. If you’d like to take part, look out for details on our website or contact Nickie if you think you can help on a particular day.

Going to London?

1.     Join our XRWD London Rebels Chat on Telegram

If you’re not already on Telegram, the link will tell you how to join. It works on all devices including desktops.

2.     Check out the live Rebellion Action pack for day by day information and all you need to know to take part

3.     Join the XR Warwick District Whatsapp Anchoring Support Group linking roaming rebels with Anchors back home for emotional debrief and support.

NOT YET RECYCLED?

If you're like us, then you will be fed up with buying products from the supermarket with those dreaded words 'not yet recycled' on the packaging.

Our rebels came up with a great idea and we want you to join us! Please save this 'not yet recycled' packaging and bring it to us (maybe collect it in a separate box next to your normal recycling💡).

There will be a drop off point at every Local Group Meeting.

Watch this space for what we are going to do with it! Be assured it will be fun and it'll relieve any guilt you might have, now that you don't have to throw it away.

who we are
